Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Artisan Cash Inc. ("Artisan," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit artisan.cash, join our waitlist, or use the Artisan product. Artisan is a non-custodial account for stablecoins: you hold and control your own funds, and licensed partners provide the regulated services described below.
Who we are
Artisan Cash Inc. operates artisan.cash and is the controller of the information described here. For any privacy question or request, contact team@artisan.cash.
Information we collect
- Waitlist. If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and the date and time you signed up, plus, where available, the marketing campaign or referring site that brought you to us.
- Account. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. Passwords are stored only in a hashed form; we never see your plaintext password.
- Identity verification. To open a funded account, U.S. law requires identity verification. During that process you provide information such as your legal name, date of birth, residential address, government identification number, and images of a government-issued ID. This is transmitted to our identity-verification partner to confirm your identity and to meet legal and anti-fraud obligations. Artisan does not retain your government ID number or ID document images beyond what is needed to complete verification.
- Wallet and transaction data. We record your public blockchain wallet address and a history of your activity in the product, such as deposits, sends, card purchases, bill payments, and amounts moved into or out of yield. Because your wallet is non-custodial, on-chain balances and transactions are public blockchain data that anyone can view.
- Bill payment. If you choose to pay a credit card or loan through Artisan, we collect your phone number and date of birth and share them with our bill-payment partner to locate your accounts with that lender and, with your written consent, to run a soft credit and debt lookup that does not affect your credit score. We receive details of those accounts, such as the lender, current balance, and minimum amount due, so you can review and pay them. We use your phone number and date of birth only to complete this lookup and do not retain them afterward.
- Device and usage. Like most online services, we automatically receive limited technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you interact with the site, together with essential cookies and first-party campaign attribution. To protect the waitlist from abuse and to measure our own marketing, our servers also keep two short-lived logs keyed to a one-way hash of your IP address rather than the address itself: signup attempts, kept for 7 days, and landing page visits with any campaign parameters from the link you clicked, kept for 90 days. We treat these hashes as personal information; they are deleted automatically on that schedule and are never shared.
How we use it
- To provide, operate, and maintain the product and your account.
- To verify your identity and to comply with legal, regulatory, and anti-fraud obligations.
- To secure the service, detect and prevent fraud, and protect our users.
- To communicate with you about your account, product updates, and launch news.
- To understand and improve the product and measure our marketing.

How we share it
We share information only as needed to run the product, and only with the categories of recipients below, each of which processes it on our behalf under contract:
- Our identity-verification partner, to confirm your identity.
- Our banking and payments partners, to move value between U.S. dollars and stablecoins and to reach banks, cards, and billers.
- Our wallet infrastructure provider, to create and operate your non-custodial wallet.
- Our hosting, database, and email-delivery providers, to run the service and contact you.
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) and X Corp. (the X advertising pixel), to measure which campaigns bring people to us and how our ads perform.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect our rights and users, or in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of the advertising and analytics cookies described below may count as “selling” or “sharing” under California law, which defines those terms broadly enough to cover sharing identifiers with advertising platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time, and we explain how below.
Cookies and your choices
Some cookies and local storage are strictly necessary to run the site, and some are first-party only, recording the marketing campaign that first brought you to us so we can tell where our sign-ups come from. Those first-party records stay with us and are not shared with anyone.
We also load a tag manager that places analytics and advertising cookies from Google and X. These measure which campaigns lead to sign-ups. They are on by default. Artisan is available only in the United States, and this reflects the opt-out standard that applies here.
To opt out, use the “Do not sell or share my personal information” link in the footer of our home page. It takes effect immediately, it is remembered on this browser for a year, and opting out does not affect your use of the site in any way.
We also honor the Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out automatically and load no advertising or analytics cookies, without you needing to do anything else. Your choice is stored per browser, so opting out on one device does not carry to another.
How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the product, then for any additional period required to meet legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it.
How we protect it
We use technical and organizational safeguards including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and row-level data isolation so that each user can only reach their own records. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to keep our safeguards current.
Your choices and rights
You can access or correct your account information, unsubscribe from our emails at any time, and ask us to delete your information, subject to obligations that require us to keep certain records. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU and UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data and to object to certain processing. To exercise any right, email team@artisan.cash. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children
Artisan is for adults. The product is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Where your data is stored
Your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you access Artisan from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed here, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
