How Artisan works

How long a crypto withdrawal to your bank takes

A standard bank withdrawal of crypto takes from the same day to about five business days, and longer around weekends and holidays. Instant options exist, and they usually charge a percentage of the amount.

How long does each kind of withdrawal take?

The wait depends on the kind of transfer. Each line below is what exchanges publish on their own help pages, read on 2026-10-07.

  • Standard bank transfer. From the same day to about five business days. One large US exchange says 3 to 5 business days, which can stretch to 7 to 10 calendar days around weekends and holidays. Another says 0 to 2 business days, and another says up to 5. The fee is often nothing.
  • Instant transfer to a bank. Usually minutes, and it charges a percentage of the amount. The pages read put it at 1.50% to 1.75%, and some cap the fee in dollars.
  • Instant transfer to a debit card. About the same speed and the same kind of percentage fee.

Those waits are for sending dollars to a bank after the crypto has been sold. If you send crypto to an exchange first, you also wait for the network to confirm the deposit. Wire transfers and other kinds are not covered here, because this page only states waits an exchange publishes.

How long does a cash out from Artisan take?

Artisan cash outs run through a licensed partner on bank rails, so they keep bank hours. There are two speeds: standard costs 0.5% of the amount, and in minutes costs 0.5% plus $1.00. On $1,000 that is $5.00 and $6.00. The review screen shows the fee before you approve. Cash out USDC to your bank account covers both ways in full.

Why do weekends and holidays add days?

Bank transfers settle in batches, on business days. A transfer started on a Friday afternoon is not in the next batch until Monday, and a bank holiday is another day with no batch. That is why an exchange can say 3 to 5 business days and also say up to 10 calendar days. It is the schedule, and nobody can speed it up. Why something is pending explains what ends each kind of wait.

Two habits help. Start a withdrawal early in the week and early in the day, because exchanges set a cutoff time. And do not count on the first day of the range.

What if a bill is due before the money lands?

Pay the bill from your USDC balance. Artisan pays a bill straight from USDC, and the biller is paid in US dollars, so there is no sale to make and no bank transfer to wait for. The receipt says usually within 2 days. Pay before the due date and not on it, because the biller posts the payment on its own timetable.

Pay bills with crypto using USDC stablecoins has the steps. A card bill has its own page, How to pay your Amex card bill with crypto.

A free standard withdrawal costs less than paying a bill through Artisan, which charges 2% plus $2.50 for processing and 0.5% for Artisan. If you can wait and the bill is not due soon, the free route is the cheaper one. How much it costs to pay a bill with USDC has the full cost worked out.

Who can use it?

Artisan is for people in the US, and it pays US billers and cashes out to US bank accounts. It is open by invite while it grows, and you can join the waitlist.

Artisan is a software company, not a bank, and a USDC balance is not a deposit. Read where your money is and the risk disclosures before you move money. Exchange times and fees change, so check your own exchange for the numbers of the day.
